John Rambo

Rambo was a stellar performer in two sports at LBSU. He led the basketball team in scoring in 1965 (20.3 points per game) and upon his induction, ranked amongst the top-10 in scoring and rebounding. But Rambo dominated in track. He was a two-time national champion in the high jump and in 1964 soared 7'1" to earn a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. He was also a three-time AAU indoor champion. He was chosen alumnus of the year in 1967. In 1971 the National Javcees honored Rambo as one of the outstanding young men in America. A part of the CENTURY CLUB'S best moments in the City of Long Beach in February, 2006.
