Jim McCormack

As a sportswriter for the Press-Telegram, McCormack covered the 49ers for 13 seasons, from 1967 until 1980. McCormack reported on the exploits of more than 70 percent of the athletes in the 49er Athletic Hall of Fame. For over two decades he has served as the executive sports editor of the Press-Telegram. He also serves on the Hall of Fame committee and is a regular patron to Long Beach State athletic events. He retired from the newspaper business after a distinguished career in July, 2006.
