The first time "The Cowboy" intercepted a pass at LBSU he ran it out of the end zone, fumbled at the two, the other team recovered and scored. Things got better after that. Severson intercepted 14 other passes in 1969 to set an NCAA standard. Severson had 23 career interceptions at LBSU. That led to an eight-year NFL career with Washington, St. Louis, Houston and the Rams. Severson started and finished his NFL career with Super Bowl appearances -- Washington in 1972 and the Rams in 1979. "The Cowboy" has many interests, acting, singing, broadcasting and real estate. His movie credits include "Semi Tough" and "North Dallas Forty" A part of the CENTURY CLUB'S best moments in the City of Long Beach in February, 2006.
