Jade Carvalho

Jade Carvalho was a three-time All-American in field hockey for the 49ers (1978-80). She led the 49ers to the 1979 AIAW Championship, the first Division I championship in school history. Carvalho was a member of the USA National Teamand was an alternate on the 1984 U.S. Olympic Team. Carvalho also excelled in judo, as she finished second in the nation at the 1979 Intercollegiate Judo Championships. Carvalho currently resides in Pennsylvania during the field hockey season and in California in the off-season (8 months of the year). She has been a women's collegiate field hockey umpire for several years, including working numerous NCAA Championships, and has officiated at all levels. She also umpires for out USA field hockey teams whenever they need her for international matches.
