Jack Reilly
- Induction:
- 1992
Reilly was the first of the 49ers' blue chip quarterbacks. As a junior in 1965, Reilly earned first team all-conference recognition while directing a 49er offense that led the nation in the small college category. That 1965 club came closer than any team in school history to going unbeaten, losing only a controversial decision to Cal State L.A. while going 9-1. Reilly's 21 TD passes in 1965 remain a school record, and his 20 TDs in 1966 is tied for second on the all-time list. After leaving Long Beach, Reilly became a successful high school, college and professional coach. He also coached the the San Diego Chargers.
