Hall of Fame

Don Dyer
- Induction:
- 1989
Dyer was the first person to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the "community" category, and appropriately so. He was an attorney in Long Beach (Dyer was legal counsel and vice president for the Long Beach Grand Prix), Dyer has actively supported 49er athletics since he was a student in the 1960's. Perhaps foremost among Dyer's efforts on behalf of the 49er athletic programs is the creation of the Hall of Fame. Dyer served as president of the Athletic Foundation in 1973 and 1974 and received "superstar" recognition for fundraising efforts in 1983, 1984, 1986, 1987 and 1988. Dyer would work in the athletics department prior to his retirement to Seattle in the early part of the 21st Century.
