Craig Hodges
- Induction:
- 1989
One of the top long-range specialists in NBA history, Hodges was a four-year starting guard for the 49er basketball team, setting a career assist record (437, a mark which was broekn by Billy Walker in 1988), before being chosen in the third round of the 1982 NBA draft by the then-San Diego Clippers. Hodges finished third all-time in scoring (1476) and second in assists. Hodges played two seasons for the Clippers, before being traded to Milwaukee, where he played all of three seasons and part of a fourth. Hodges finished the 1988 season in Phoenix, before joing Chicago and winning NBA Championships in the early 90's with Michael Jordan. His son, Jabril, was a four-year letterman for the 49ers in the early part of the 21st Century, setting his own marks on the career charts in three-point shooting.
