A former Welterweight Champion of the World, Carlos Palomino will be inducted into the 49er Hall of Fame in the “Special Category” classification, as a graduate of Long Beach State. Palomino defended his title seven times in the late 1970’s, and made a comeback in 1997, winning four of his five fights by knockout, before losing to the number-three welterweight in the world. Palomino posted a record of 31-3-3 with 19 knockouts in his career. He has since moved on to acting, and has appeared in 14 feature films and 11 television shows. Palomino was just the fifth person to enter the 49er Hall of Fame under the “Special Category” designation.
