Bob Wuesthoff

A professor in the physical education and the director of the 49er Camps for years, Weusthoff was coach of the freshman-junior varsity team for two seasons and the varsity squad for six years. His 1964 varsity team won the first California Collegiate Athletic Association title and his 1969 team finished in first in the Pacific Coast Athletic Association. Weusthoff's efforts with his 1964 team earning his recognition as the NCAA's District-VII college Coach of the Year. Weusthoff was also a former associate athletic director at LBSU and interim athletics director during the 1969 football season. An endowed scholarship was named in his honor in winter, 2005.
