Ami Ice
- Induction:
- 2006
A three-time Big West Conference champion, Ami Ice set the standard in the heptathlon at Long Beach State. Ice won two heptathlon titles (1989, 1991) at the Big West Outdoor Championships. In 1991, her senior year, she tallied a Big West meet record of 5,387 points. She also set a school-record that year of 5,521 points, a mark which still stands. As a senior in 1991 she competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, earning All-America honors with her 11th place finish. Ice has four all-conference honors on her resume. She was all-league as a freshman in the 400 meter hurdles and as a sophomore she won the 400 meter hurdles at the Big West meet. Ice holds six marks in the top-10 outdoor and three on the indoor list, setting four school records (400m outdoor, 55m indoor, indoor long jump, heptathlon) during her time at Long Beach State. She qualified for the 1988 and 2000 Olympic Trials.
