One of the great teams in the history of not just Long Beach State but collegiate basketball, the 1986-87 squad coached by Joan Bonvicini was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2024. Led by a tandem of high-powered scorers in Cindy Brown and Penny Toler, the team went 33-3 on the year before falling to Pat Summit and the eventual national champions, Tennessee and earning a Top 5 final national ranking.
